Enrolment increased to 365 students and 28 staff. There were now four form levels.

As the school grew so did  the role of  the canteen.  This was initially organized by the Mother’s Club but the 20% increase in school population merited the appointment of a Canteen Manageress.

Music, Drama and Physical Education were added to the School curriculum.

We were the first high school in Victoria to have our own closed television circuit facilities installed. Usage began March with a program of teacher-training demonstrations organized by Monash Teacher’s College.

Work had begun the previous November on the driveways, these with the gardens and lawns were completed by mid-year. The school received a Government grant to build an assembly hall.

The school community made a special effort to stock the library and the newly formed Monash  Association of Students ( Monash  University students) donated  books.

Along with he material and organizational developments, the school has been continually developing its programs and policies. There has been development of library facilities, teaching and assessment techniques, as well as the growth of school spirit and tradition in citizenship, scholarship and sport.
