If you have the Laurel for this year please contact the webmaster.

This year for the first time the school was able to offer our students a full six year cycle of secondary education. Monash High School had evolved to indicate “the first signs of maturity”. Form 6 was established with 30 students, 6 of whom were from Malaysia with 9 subjects on offer.

An indication of the new momentum the school was gaining was obvious this year with a record intake of 216 Form I students. When the total enrolment reached 750 the staffing category changed. For the school this included the appointment of its first Deputy Principal, Mrs.L.Green.

Of the 45 staff members , 25 were now qualified teachers.

The sporting spirit had hold this year, with Monash High students keenly competing and achieving in the various sporting fields.

With the immense changes in school philosophy , the Captain’s Council was replaced by the Students’ Representative Council.
