● Students made significant contribution to material development around
school, such as barbeque in front of Theatrette and contributions from
lamington drive supported by parent contributions to establish a computer
centre . ● Six performances of school production The Boyfriend in MHS Theatrette. A thirteen piece orchestra accompanied the show ● A six day camp in Mildura for Year 8 students commenced with a trip on the Vinelander, chauffeured around by Scott the bus driver and ended up at the Apex Caravan park…..with many tales to be recalled. ● A Central Australian coach trip discovered the wonders of the desert living as in sleeping in Coober Pedy, football at Uluru, scorpions of Grand Canyon and the view from St Mary’s peak Wilpena Pound. ● A Year 9 trip where 37 Monash maniacs zoomed through the lush and quiet Tasmanian countryside. Gravestones and churches seemed to be the tour theme. ● A full sporting calendar for MHS students with outstanding results across the range of sports. ● A very active instrumental music program presented concerts at the end of every term. 61 instrumental students participated in either Strings, Woodwind, Brass or Drums. ● Increased interest in music was evident with the formation of the choir with an express purpose of achieving a high standard in choral singing. ● The House Swimming Sports once again became the venue for the annual Staff “Silly Hats” contest….. many beautiful bonnets made up for the new boss’s failure to produce an entry.
