● School Council hopes to develop wider participation of parents and general community with staff and students. Successful gatherings with parents, local industry and service organizations have happened throughout the year.

● HSC “Study space” granted…30 to 40 metres of corridor.

● An Army Scholarship was awarded to Tony Wilson. With success in his final examinations he will be eligible for Duntroon Military College Canberra.

● Formation of Year 12 Student representative committee. Successful BBQ’s, dinner dance and cake stall were organised by this enterprising group.

● 23 overseas guest students in HSC. An Indonesian student has joined our Malaysian contingent to study HSC at MHS and hopefully gain a tertiary placement.

● Inaugural Pupil Welfare scheme successfully trialed by Co-ordinator Val Friend.

● Ancient and Medieval battles performed by Warrior One, on school oval for students of year 7 & 8 History.

● The Youth for Understanding Scheme enabled students from MHS to experience a year at school in another country whilst in exchange overseas students came here.

● Licola camp, owned by the Lion’s Club is a former timber mill/town. This was the activity venue for a lively year 7 camp.

● Work experience program provided a bevy of industry experiences for year 10 students .

● Now have two computers at MHS- IBM.System 3, Model 10 and an Apple 11.

● Successful performances by Choir at Waverley Schools Music Festival in Robert Blackwood Hall and Brandon Park .

● Rock Concert performance by Alice-D and Limited Edition featuring current and ex-students.

● Summer sports saw many successful teams with the Senior Girls Cricket winning at the Southern zone. Swimming success in winning the Grand Aggregate pennant. In Winter sports we gained 12 pennants of these 9 won by girls teams.

● Animal husbandry, botany, hydroponics and general care of animals was enthusiastically studied by Rural Studies classes.

● No school production this year.
