● New principal, EJ Cannan. Mr Graham Lee leaves Monash after holding Vice principal and Principal positions.

● Year 9 Social ( Costume party) organized by Jodie, Nicole and Janet and supported by Mrs Slattery.

Best costumes:  Sophia Velgakis- Madonna.  Evy Jurinec- Little Bo Peep

Rowan Davis & Lee Wapling- Grinning gorillas

Stephen Morrisey & Mathew Chaplin- The Blues Brothers

 ● Girls Footy team, mainly years 9 & 10, faced the “really rough” opponents of Murrumbeena . The Monash girls won by a huge 10 goals and avoided the constant provocation to fight.

● Oakleigh Special Schools students worked with the Year 9 Music class. The experience was beneficial for both groups , with all students increasing their range of personal skills.

● A mighty effort by our football, cricket, tennis, netball, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, softball and squash….with some teams reaching the All High Finals.

● Introduction of “EGGs” Enrichment Group Gatherings. A program designed to build a range of life skills with students and teachers participating voluntarily.

● Six performances of the musical “ Me and My Gal” were an enormous success. The cast may remember being “blinded” at rehearsals by the appearance of the yellow fluorescent jumper.

● Year 10 offered suggestions to existing year 9 students about their upcoming challenges in Year 10…..included advice, outline of problems and how to cope being in love.

● New craze sweeps Monash. Everywhere you turn there are Poppers, Rappers and Breakers. “EGG’s” group 10 organised a most successful Rapdancing competition in the theatrette, which attracted a capacity crowd.

● Chris McNamara 8B provided us with a memory test.
